After a very slow January for housing starts in Ottawa, February’s starts were the highest for that month that I’ve tracked. Those consisted of 50 singles being started, 6 semis, 119 rows and 782 apartments.
Completions were flipped. January 2026 saw the highest completions in the years I’ve tracked (785). February 2026, though, was the lowest monthly completions at 306. Those consisted of 27 singles, 6 semis, 53 rows and 220 apartments.
There are 15,297 units of housing under construction in Ottawa, just behind the high of 15,975 that I tracked in February 2024. Those units under construction are 823 singles, 197 semis, 1,424 rows and 13,483 apartments.
