From April 28 until August 25, the eastbound on-ramp to the 417 at Parkdale will be closed. Residents who want to go eastbound can get on the 417 either at Carling or at Metcalfe.
From April 29 until May 14, the eastbound off-ramp from the 417 at Parkdale will be closed. Eastbound vehicles on the 417 can exit the highway either at Carling or Rochester.

As the natural world awakens from its winter sleep, our feathered migrant neighbours are slowly beginning to arrive. Eastern Phoebes and Song Sparrows have added their voices to the morning chorus, and they will soon be joined by a colourful kaleidoscope of warblers.

Come out and meet some of the resident and migrant birds of your naturehood on this family-friendly outing. We will see who we can find together, and practice some basic skills that will help you to locate and identify the birds around you. Bring your curiosity, a set of binoculars and a bird field guide or the Merlin bird app, if you like.
Registration is not required but if you would like to be notified of cancellations due to weather, feel free to send an email to jen@spiritwalkers.ca with the subject: “Naturehood Outing.”
Board meetings will have an open session for community residents to observe business discussions. Non board community members will also be invited to participate at certain times by the chair and there will be “in camera” topics for the board members only. If you are interested in organizing an event or activity, or addressing an issue or concern, you are welcome to come to a meeting to discuss it further. You can also write to the webmaster champlainpark@gmail.com who can direct you to the correct board member.

Over the last year, staff from the City’s Parking Services team have been gathering data as part of the Kitchissippi Parking Study Update. The Study aims to address parking-related issues in the Westboro Village and Wellington West areas focusing on optimizing parking services and promoting sustainable transportation.
The study is currently moving into its final phase where staff will share the results and present the draft outcomes to members of the community, promising an opportunity to ask questions and offer feedback.
All community members are welcome to attend one of the two upcoming information sessions delivered by staff to learn more.

Unplug and spend time with friends and neighbours and play games at the Field House on the 2nd Thursday of every month from 7-9 pm, starting from May 9th!
Open to all Champlain Park members who are at least 10 years of age. If you are not an active member, membership of Champlain Park Community Association can be purchased online at Champlainpark.org. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
We will be playing Backgammon, Chess, Sushi Go!, Ticket To Ride, or bring your favourite game to play with others! There will be a short tutorial on Backgammon for those who want to learn a new game. Backgammon is fun and very easy to learn! Come and join us for a fun community Game Night!

Nancy Jordan and her daughter Katrina Blackburn from Ganden Gardens in Winchester will bring us a slideshow and talk on operating a prosperous flower farm in our area. They offer bouquet subscriptions, sell at local stores and the night market at Parkdale.

A virtual public meeting is planned for March 5 at 6:30 that will consider quite a drastic change for a residential street right next to the Metro grocery store in our neighbourhood.
The property owner at 10 Garrison Street is applying for a zoning bylaw change to construct a three-story low-rise apartment building with 10 units. The current single, detached home would be demolished (just north of Wellington Street and west of Western Avenue). The applicant will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. You can read more details and access information regarding the Zoom link on the Kitchissippi Ward website. Champlain Park likely will be dealing with this kind of request for spot rezonings in the near future.
Preamble: This meeting is an orientation session to start off the new year, to welcome, and introduce everyone to each other and to the community members who may be in attendance.
We will cover a number of items related to how CPCA conducts business, protects the public and volunteers through insurance, incorporation and risk management, and our duties as a corporate non-profit. Members of the community are welcome.
You will learn more about these essential business topics that support our other activities like our Social activities (Rink, Halloween, Winter Carnival, Holiday Sleigh Ride etc.), Beautifying our community through Planting, Community Clean-Up and Participation in many Municipal Issues. These business elements are essential to CPCA retaining its corporate status and to remaining in good standing with the City and other external organizations.
