Time capsule

During the Mayor’s 2017 State of the City address, he announced that as part of the 2017 celebrations, we would be assembling a time capsule that would be opened by Ottawa residents in 50 years’ time, when Canada will be celebrating its 200th anniversary. In order for this to be a successful time capsule, the Mayor is looking for our constituent’s contributions. We have taken suggestions from the community and would now ask you to vote on your choice for item to be included in this time capsule, to represent Kitchissippi Ward from 2017. You have until Tuesday, September 26 to vote and we will announce the preferred item on Wednesday, September 27.

This will serve as a reminder of what life was like before the 2018 LRT and route maps are the type of thing that tends to be discarded and not recorded for future reference. 4) A copy of the Official Cycling Map of Ottawa Gatineau. We expect many changes in our future cycling infrastructure. 5) A print of an article on the announcement of the LRT along with a short section of actual LRT rail which a member has and is willing to donate.

WHAT OTTAWA EATS in 2017: A copy of “Ottawa Eats”, by Anne DesBrisay. This book, published in 2016, highlights 41 of Ottawa’s best restaurants today and includes recipes. How will today's innovative recipes seem in 50 years? This could be a fun find in 50 years.
