You are here

The City of Ottawa will hold a public information session on Tuesday, February 6 on upcoming watermain work on Sherbourne Road. It will run from 6pm to 8pm in the Town Hall room of the Churchill Seniors Centre, 345 Richmond Road.

Here are the details from the flyer distributed to neighbourhood mailboxes:

Dear Resident,

The City of Ottawa would like to invite you to a Public Information Session to discuss an upcoming infrastructure project planned in your neighbourhood.

  •          The existing 203 mm diameter watermain in Sherbourne Road, between Knightsbridge Road and Dovercourt Crescent, installed in 1954, is in poor condition and requires replacement. The watermain replacement will improve the reliability of the water distribution system.

What:        Replacement of the existing watermain and water services to the property line on Sherbourne Road from Knightsbridge Road to Dovercourt Avenue. Work will also include the construction of a new watermain on Redwood Avenue, from Keenan Avenue to Sherbourne Road, as well as include the replacement of the existing sanitary sewer on Redwood Avenue, from Keenan Avenue to Sherbourne Road.

When:       The design of the project is presently underway. Tendering of the construction contract is expected to take place in spring of 2018, with construction scheduled to begin in late-spring and summer of 2018.

Where:      Sherbourne Road from Knightsbridge Road to Dovercourt Avenue, and Redwood Avenue from Keenan Avenue to Sherbourne Road.

At the Public Information Session you will be able to review the preliminary plans and related objectives, provide comments and bring forth any issues. Representatives from the City, the Consulting Engineers and Ward Councillors will be available to discuss the project and answer your questions. Your input is an important part of the consultation process.

Accessibility is an important consideration for the City of Ottawa. If you require special accommodation, please contact the City of Ottawa Project Manager listed below.
