Road closures for Race Weekend

The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend marathon and half-marathon are coming up on Sunday, May 24. We've received the following letter from the organizers about road closures in Hintonburg, West Wellington and Westboro. Get out and cheer!

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of impending road closures on Sunday May 24th for the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon and ½ Marathon.  There will be over 19,000 runners from all over the world running through your neighborhoods on this date.  We will have police at major intersections to manage traffic.

Street closures will be in place from 5:00am-11:30am on Sunday May 24th.

The following streets will be closed and No Parking will be in effect during this time: Sherwood between Carling and Fairmont;

Fairmont between Sherwood and Wellington Street West;

Wellington Street/Richmond Road between Fairmont and Athlone;

Athlone between Richmond and Scott;

Island Park between Richmond and Scott;

Scott between Athlone and Sir Fredrick Banting;

The Sir John A Macdonald Parkway between Island Park and Booth street. 

Please do not park overnight on these streets to avoid having to move your vehicle early in the morning.

We would encourage you come out and cheer on these runners or participate in cheering stations located at Wellington and Fairmont; Wellington and Piccadilly; Richmond Road and Kirkwood Avenue; and Scott and McRae.
