More snow. Parking ban tonight. The latest from our snow crews.

You are here

Our snow crews have provided a look-ahead at tonight's cleaning schedule given the anticipated snow.

***

Flurries begin this afternoon at approximately 2pm, snow to intensify from 5pm through the evening and into the overnight until approximately 1 am where we expect to have 10 cm accumulation on the ground. We do expect flurries to end at 4am as the snow event pushes through. The afternoon commute will be affected as the snow intensifies late this afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high of -5 C today with a warming trend through the remainder of the day and into Wednesday where it will reach 0 C, this will only last a few hours as the temperatures will gradually drop through the afternoon on Wednesday with an overnight low of -15 C. Winds will intensify as the snow event pushes through so expect blowing and drifting snow in open areas. We will be deploying a residential plow run overnight at 3am and the overnight parking ban will be enacted. Day staff will be deployed on the arterial road and sidewalk network as the snow event starts and remain until 7pm. Night shift staff are scheduled to be in at 7pm to continue with our plowing and salting efforts.
