McCormick Park - Older Adult Plan - Concept Plan

As part of its Older Adult Plan, the City has funding available for improvements to local parks, and McCormick has been chosen to begin that process. City staff have been assessing the park in light of its older adult lens, and has some interesting improvements to propose such as: 

• Leveling out a flat multi-purpose greenspace zone for Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi or other adult recreational activities
• games tables with accessible seating
• updated accessible benches
• updated accessible drinking fountain
• shrub planting and additional landscaping for enhanced visual interest, shade and sensory experiences
• paving and slope improvements at the ramp entrance to the park to meet City’s accessibility requirements
• Bench-Fit fitness circuit
• electric charging station and light for games tables (pending budget confirmation), and
• a community notice board

We are holding an open house with the community on Saturday, September 10 in McCormick park itself from 2-4 pm. However, we've attached the proposed plan here and welcome your feedback!
