Iona, Broadhead, Helena Public Consultation #2 July 11

You are here

The next public information session about the upcoming road reconstruction work on Iona, Broadhead, and Helena will happen Tuesday, July 11, from 7pm to 9pm in the Laroche Room at the Hintonburg Community Centre, 1064 Wellington Street West. We hope to see you there.

Here is the notice from the city:

The City of Ottawa would like to invite you to a Public Information Session to discuss a reconstruction project planned in your neighbourhood. The first Public Information Session on February 23, 2017 was held to solicit comments on the designs of Iona Street, Broadhead Avenue, and Helena Street. This second Public Information Session is being held to advise of construction related issues (schedule, road closures, etc.) that may be of interest to the community.

WHY: The underground infrastructure on Iona Street, Broadhead Avenue, and Helena Street is being replaced due to its age.
WHAT: Reconstruction of watermains, sewers, and roadway including sidewalks.
WHEN: The design of the project is completed. Tendering of the construction contract has taken place. Construction by the City’s contractor is tentatively scheduled to begin in late July 2017 on Helena Street, Broadhead Avenue, and Iona Street between Broadhead and Hilson. The construction of Iona Street from Hilson to Island Park is not scheduled to begin until Spring 2018.
WHERE: Iona Street between Broadhead Avenue and Island Park Drive
Broadhead Avenue between Iona Street and Clare Street
Helena Street between Mayfair Avenue and Clarendon Avenue

At the Public Information Session you will be able to review the construction plans and bring forth any issues that have not yet been identified. Representatives from the City, the consulting team and the Ward Councillor, Jeff Leiper, will be available to discuss the project and answer your questions.
Accessibility is an important consideration for the City of Ottawa. If you require special accommodation, please contact the City of Ottawa Project Manager listed below.
