Byron/Athlone/Highcroft Road Renewal Public Webinar - December 14

The City of Ottawa is planning a co-ordinated road. sewer, water main renewal project for Byron Avenue, Athlone Avenue and Highcroft Avenue. A flyer will be distribute to neighbouring residents which will include the information below. In addition to an online consultation, residents are invited to attend a Zoom Webinar where city staff and consultants will have a short presentation followed by a Q&A session.

DATE: MONDAY, DECEMBER 14

TIME: 7pm

What:       The City of Ottawa is undertaking the design for the renewal of the infrastructure on Byron Avenue, Athlone Avenue, and Highcroft Avenue. The proposed work consists of the renewal of the sewers, watermains, roadways and sidewalks.

Why:        The existing watermain, sanitary sewer and road infrastructure has reached the end of its useful life and requires replacement to continue to provide the required level of service to your neighbourhood.

Where:     The proposed work will occur on Byron Avenue from Byron Place to Hilson Avenue, Athlone Avenue from Byron Avenue to Clare Street, and Highcroft Avenue from Byron Avenue to Clare Street.

When:      The design work for this project is ongoing. Construction is expected to start in one to two years, pending approvals including budget and overall construction coordination. The timing for the project will be confirmed closer to construction.

Who:        The City of Ottawa has retained the consulting firm, Robinson Consultants Inc., to complete the design.
