The City and the National Capital Commission (NCC) Working Group recently announced an agreement in principle that would allow a portion of the LRT extension between Dominion and Cleary stations to be fully buried under the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway. The public consultation about the recommended corridor will take place in Jean Pigott Place at City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West) and will offer residents the opportunity to learn more about the proposal and to provide feedback.
City staff have proposed some pilot measures along the busy Parkdale-Holland corridor on Wellington West to improve cycling safety. Come out April 1 to the Hintonburg Community Centre (1064 Wellington Street West) at 7 pm to talk about new signage and enforcement measures that could be one step toward making this stretch of road safer.

Late last year, I noted that the Bloomfield Yard would be seeing a significant expansion. After door-knocking and further discussions with residents and the community association, it's become clear that people have questions about the project and want to delve a little more into the plans. So we're hosting a public open house on April 7 to run through the details. It will be held at the Churchill Seniors Centre, 345 Richmond Road, on April 7, 6-8 pm. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you there!

It's been a long road for the Hintonburg and Mechanicsville communities in their efforts to have the old City Works building at Bayview Yards provided with heritage protection. On March 26, the Built Heritage sub-Committee will consider a staff recommendation to designate the building. Staff says of the building in its report:
