327 Richmond Rd Development - Open House Webinar

You may recall that prior to the Covid19 pandemic, we were working on a pre-application open house to discuss a proposed development at 327 Richmond Rd. We were not able to move forward with that in-person open house but we have now set up a virtual open house via Zoom webinar.

Urban boundary expansion in Ottawa

Last February, I wrote a post about the debate over expanding the urban boundary (here). In it, I noted that the discussion comes down to a decision about how much intensification will be needed to accommodate the population growth that we anticipate between now and 2046.

320 McRae/315 Tweedsmuir

The 320 McRae/315 Tweedsmuir proposal that was approved over a year ago has come in with a re-submitted design. The key difference from the approved version to this is the relocation of the parklet further south, which consolidates two garage entrances. The height remains the same, though there are some smaller tweaks. Click the .pdf file below to see the new site plan. The full application will be available on the City's web site soon.

LPAT decision: Roosevelt long semis

The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal has overturned the Committee of Adjustment (CoA) decisions against long semis proposed for 508 and 512/14 Roosevelt Avenue. Residents had successfully fought lot area variance applications by Falsetto Homes and Kenwood Homes at the CoA that were sought to build long semis on the two (to be subdivided into four) properties.

Human Needs Task Force update

The Human Needs Task Force today provided a comprehensive update of its initiatives to date serving the most vulnerable in our city. Federal and provincial funding has begun to flow into the City, and will be put quickly to support at-risk residents.
