Reid Park Ribbon Cutting Celebration! July 6, 2019 from 1:30-2:30pm

You are here

Work is almost done on the redevelopment of Reid Park, and we are eager to celebrate!

As you'll recall, Reid Park was redeveloped with Cash-in-Lieu funds after extensive community consultation. The community created the vision for the redeveloped park and the City of Ottawa brought that vision to life. Throughout the consultation, the Civic Hospital Neighbourhood Association's History & Heritage group paid diligent attention to the treatment of the Reid family farmhouse, which due to the state of disrepair had to be mostly demolished. A portion of one of the walls remains, and the CHNA History & Heritage group worked with the City to develop historical information panels. This park redevelopment is a true testament to the collaboration of the community and the City. And we are so excited to officially cut the ribbon!

Please join us at Reid Park (by the farmhouse wall & informational panels) on July 6 from 1:30 to 2:30pm. Councillor Leiper, Mayor Watson, the City and the CHNA will give some opening remarks, followed by a ribbon cutting, group photo and celebratory cake! The CHNA History & Heritage group will also be giving a presentation on the historical information panels.

We hope to see you and your neighbours there!
