Public Advisory Committee (PAC) Meeting #2
Saturday, April 11, 2015
3:30 to 5:00 pm
Plant Recreation Centre
930 Somerset Street West (at Preston Street)
Dear Sir/Madam,
The City of Ottawa would like to invite you to the second Public Advisory Committee (PAC) Meeting, to discuss progress on the design of the Trillium Multi-Use Pathway.
WHY: The City of Ottawa will be constructing a new multi-use pathway (MUP) between Carling Avenue and Young Street. A PAC meeting for this project, Phase II of the Trillium Multi-use Pathway, was held on September 10th, 2014. Since then, work has advanced and the preliminary design has been completed. The second PAC meeting will be held to review the preliminary design and provide community feedback.
WHAT: Phase II of the Trillium Multi-use Pathway will provide a 4.6 m MUP that will be paved from Carling Avenue to Hickory Street Pedestrian Bridge/Adeline Street, and an improved granular surface will be constructed from the Hickory Street Pedestrian Bridge/Adeline Street to Beech Street. The MUP will also create access to Adeline Street, and will also include a signalized cross-ride and crosswalk at Carling Avenue and new pathway lighting along the entire length of the MUP from Carling Avenue to Young Street.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to review progress on the proposed schedule, design, finalized alignment, geotechnical and environmental investigations as well as past public comments.
WHEN: The City plans to complete the design of the MUP in spring 2015 and construction is expected to begin mid to late 2015, pending approvals.
WHERE: The 4.6m MUP will be located east of the O-Train Trillium Line, between Carling Avenue and Young Street
