New Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus - Zoning By-Law Amendment + OPA application, Open House

A Zoning By-Law Amendment and Official Plan Amendment applications have been submitted for the new Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus site at 930 Carling Ave and 520 Preston Ave. 

These purpose of these applications are to facilitate the use of the selected site for the new Hospital. The lands will be rationalised into two distinct zones; The first is aligning the zoning with the existing Mixed-Use Centre designation adjacent the existing O-Train Carling Station. The second is aligning the General Urban Area designation to reflect the institutional land use of a hospital, and address the 5 hectares of the site which are currently designated Agricultural Research Area. While the site is technically outside of Kitchissippi Ward, we understand that a future hospital development at that site will have impacts on our residents.  There is an Open House planned for September 25, at the Alexander Community Centre (960 Silver Street) from 6:30pm - 9:00pm. However, we are working with Councillor McKenney's office to host a second Open House at a location that is easier to access for our residents. We will provide those details as soon as they are available.
