Iona, Broadhead, Helena Open House February 23

A Public Information Session for the reconstruction project on Iona Street, Broadhead Avenue, and Helena Street has been set for Thursday, February 23 from 7pm to 9pm in Room 112 of the Fisher Park Community Centre.

From the City of Ottawa notice:

WHY: The underground infrastructure on Iona Street, Broadhead Avenue, and Helena Street is being replaced due to its age.
WHAT: Reconstruction of watermains, sewers, and roadway including sidewalks.
WHEN: The design of the project is presently underway. Tendering of the construction contract is expected to take place in Spring of 2017 and construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Summer of 2017.
WHERE: Iona Street between Broadhead Avenue and Island Park Drive
Broadhead Avenue between Iona Street and Clare Street
Helena Street between Mayfair Avenue and Clarendon Avenue
At the Public Information Session you will be able to review the preliminary plans and related objectives, provide comments and bring forth any issues that have not yet been identified. Representatives from the City, the consulting team and the Ward Councillor, Jeff Leiper, will be available to discuss the project and answer your questions. Your input is an important part of the consultation process. The City is especially interested in receiving the Public’s opinions on issues related to local pedestrian and cycling routes, on-street parking, and storm water drainage as they relate to this Project.
