I'm taking a pie in the face, apparently

Awesome, Kitchissippi! Well before deadline, you raised $1000 for Ottawa West Community Support - thanks in part to a top-up donation yesterday by the Wellington West Business Improvement Area.

Thanks to your generosity, I'll be taking a pie in the face at the OWCS' annual BBQ,June 26. It starts at 11:30 AM, at 1137 Wellington Street West. We're thinking pie (or pies) get thrown at noon. Throwing honours will be raffled away.

There are donation jars all over Wellington West and Westboro - keep the loonies coming! OWCS does critical work in our community, much of it by volunteers. Their work to help seniors age with dignity in their homes is important to ensuring the kind of diverse, tight-knit and caring community we're trying to build.

I am grateful (I think) for the support so many of our local merchants showed for this effort by putting out donation jars, contributing, and helping spread the word.
