Hydro One to replant in corridor

You are here

Earlier this year, Hydro One cleared a lot of trees and vegetation from their corridor just west of Kirkwood Avenue. They removed anything that affected the daily operations of the corridor.

We heard from many residents unhappy with the decision. In further conversations with Hydro One we learned about its beautification fund. With money from that fund, Hydro One has agreed to replant in the corridor.

A few days ago we delivered the attached flyer to homes adjacent to the corridor. I've also attached here lists of vegetation Hydro One is willing to plant in the corridor, vegetation that can have aesthetic appeal in the corridor without hindering daily operations there. If you want to provide input, please look at the lists and send your opinions to Tom in my office (tom.pechloff@ottawa.ca). We're also reaching out to the Hampton Iona Community Group to get its feedback.

Tom will compile all the comments until November 30, when we he will send it to Hydro One for its consideration. We hope to hear from you!
