Hinton Avenue sewer lining work to go ahead next week

You are here

After a five-month delay, our office has learned the sewer lining work along Hinton Avenue North between Tyndall Street and Wellington Street will go ahead next week.

The contractor will be bringing equipment to the intersection of Hinton and Tyndall on Monday, Nov. 7, to prepare for the work which is set to begin Tuesday. The project is expected to take three full days to complete.

Affected residents will begin getting 48-hour construction notices tomorrow (Friday). Two portapotties will be on site for the duration of the work and the contractor will pump out residents' sanitary services daily.

We have secured week-long swim passes from the Dovercourt Recreation Centre which includes access to their showers. We'll be dropping them off in residents' mailboxes before the work begins. Also, the Hintonburg Community Centre will make their showers available during their regular hours. They just need to know how many people to expect, so let us know (jeff.leiper@ottawa.ca) and we will let them know.

During the work, Hinton will be closed at Tyndall, with local traffic only restrictions in place at Wellington.
