#BudgetSpeak2016

Thanks to everyone who attended our #BudgetSpeak2016 event in October. The budget will be tabled tomorrow, November 9. As we wait for that document, here's the summary of the #BudgetSpeak event recently distributed to participants.

Thank you for participating in BudgetSpeak 2016 on Oct. 13.

This year we took a different approach and rather than focusing on the “what” we focused on the “how," specifically looking at addressing the top three resident-identified priorities from BudgetSpeak sessions hosted for the 2015 and 2016 city budgets. We wanted to share a summary of the feedback that was provided on each of the priority areas at this session. You can view this here. The city’s draft budget will be tabled at Council on Nov. 9, 2016. We will be entering these deliberations with many of the ideas brought forward through this consultation in mind. We want to see a strong budget commitment in the three areas we discussed that evening.

We encourage you to attend the committees where departmental budgets will be considered and speak to these three priorities and others that are important to you. Departmental budgets will be discussed at the following dates...
