417 ramp closure / Merivale road closure update

We have two updates on the 417 widening work and some traffic impacts.

Scheduled to begin on August 7, the Carling Avenue 417 Westbound on-ramp will be closed for a minimum of nine weeks. Signage will be present advising motorists of the ramp closure and providing alternate access points to the highway westbound. If any changes to this scheduled closure arise, we will notify residents as soon as possible. The MTO does not anticipate any further long ramp closures this year.

On another note, the MTO’s 36-hour closure of Merivale Road between Carling and Island Park has been delayed. The closure was originally scheduled to begin Saturday July 21^st at 6:00 pm. When we know a firmer date for this closure, we’ll let people know.
