Caring Kitchissippi: Dress for Success Ottawa

You are here

In the lead up to the 2nd Kitchissippi Forum on Saturday 18 April 2015, we're doing a series on the first 6 not-for-profit organisations that have a connection to our ward and have been asked to participate at the forum. Today, we start with one of the lovely organisations who work so hard for not just our ward, but the residents of Ottawa.
Hot on the success of their gala on 26 March celebrating helping 1000 women, we're really happy to announce that representatives from Dress for Success will be attending the Kitchissippi Forum on April 18 at Tom Brown Arena.
Dress for Success is a global not-for-profit organization that has been in Ottawa since 2011 that provides professional attire, support and career development to help women thrive in the workforce.
Dress for Success is looking for long-lasting solutions to empower women to have better futures that they deserve. Come out to speak with them at the forum and learn more about the many ways you can get involved and help make a difference.. They are always looking for donations of gently-used or new clothing and accessories that women would be confident wearing to job interviews. This includes jackets, suits, pants, skirts, purses, jewellery and accessories, unopened toiletries and professional shoes.  Donations of money are also welcome, of course but this is a great opportunity to give away a nice jacket that's been hanging around in the back of your cupboard that you don't wear anymore for whatever reason.
If you aren't coming to the forum (but you really should!) and you still wish to support Dress for Success, you can visit their website to provide donations at, or like their facebook page You can also tweet them at @DFSOttawa.
Alternatively, the next Dress for Success donation day is 13 April 2015 from 1 to 7 pm at 1339 Wellington Street W.
