I've been advised that there will be some noisier work this Saturday at the site of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute as the old concrete parkade is demolished, and preparations begin for footings for the new building. There will also be a road cut to Ruskin for new site services under construction January 11-14. Full details are in the attached .pdf update.

After months of discussions, the City is finally ready to proceed with completing sewer lining work on Scott Street between Merton and Bayview (see my November 30 newsletter). Beginning today, residents will see preparations on Scott Street that will have traffic and cycling implications that I'll address in just a bit.

Good morning, Kitchissippi. I continue to hear about a few odds and ends from yesterday's large storm that need cleanup, but by and large the plowing operations continue and staff are getting to those as they can. Please call 3-1-1 if you see any areas needing attention. This'll be the last update I post from the City - best wishes for a very happy new year from I and my staff! Remember, OC Transpo is free starting at 8 pm on New Year's Eve. Take advantage of it to have a safe and awesome night of celebrating!

Une tempête hivernale accompagnée de poudrerie (vents soutenus de 25 km/h et bourrasques pouvant atteindre 45 km/h) qui laissera environ 30 cm de neige est prévue commencer ce soir à 23 h et durer 24 heures. First, thanks to the many Kitchissippi and River ward residents who came out last night to view a pre-application presentation of the proposal by Riocan to re-develop Westgate. It was a busy night.

As we win more and more engagement with the City for music-industry-boosting initiatives, I'm thrilled that I'm able to offer what promises to be an amazing evening of storytelling with some of Ottawa's biggest personalities.
